Today I spoke to a young man who has been a client of mine for some years, and he asked me about a simple technique that I had spoken to him about some time ago, so as I had promised to write it out for him, I decided it would be a good idea to share it with other people as well.

Despite its simplicity it works very well, and is called:

The Circle of Excellence

The Circle of Excellence is something I was taught a very long time ago, and a simple yet powerful tool that I have shared with many people over the years.

It is simply a way of locking in a good memory, one in which you felt or allowed your self t feel great, fantastic, happy, confident etc and being able to recreate that feeling at will.

Instructions

Just by your self

Standing up, close your eyes,

Remember an occasion where you felt really really good / happy.

This could be your graduation, your wedding, promotion at work, birth of a child, anything that you remember as being a happy time

Make that memory as real as you can, remember where you were, how you felt, were there any special smells or fragrances around you, and so on.

Then still with your eyes closed imagine that there is a circle drawn on the floor in front of you, keep the happy memory in your mind and as you take one [1] step both feet, one after the other into the circle press your thumb and first finger together strongly to lock in that memory.

When you are ready open your eyes.

Instructions with an assistant or a partner

This time your assistant or partner is going to work with you to lock the positive memory in to your body

Discuss this process with your assistant / partner before beginning

Standing up with your assistant or partner standing beside you, preferably on the left hand side and with their hand resting lightly on your shoulder.

When you are ready to step forward into the circle of excellence your partner or assistant will step forward with you, and as you both do so they will increase the pressure on your shoulder to be a firm press down.

Close your eyes,

Remember an occasion where you felt really really good / happy.

Then still with your eyes closed imagine that there is a circle drawn on the floor in front of you, keep the happy memory in your mind

Indicate to your partner / assistant by a nod or a prearranged signal and step forward together

As you take the one [1] step, both feet, one after the other into the circle press your thumb and first finger together strongly to lock in that memory. At the same time your partner will be locking in the memory for you also by pressing on your left shoulder.

When you want/ desire to feel that positive happiness again in the future, close your eyes and press your thumb and finger together again to activate that memory.

NOTE

You can lock in different situations by using a different finger with your thumb if you wish so that you have a range of options, eg happiness, strength, confidence and so on.
